Prof D P Singh have many accolades to his credit and strongly believed to be a right person at right place and right time. NAAC newly appointed director DP Singh who took charge at Bengaluru recently , need to take same pledge that of prime ministerModi"na khaoonga, na khane doonga (neither will I take money myself, nor will I let others)".All government officers should take this pledge to make India corruption free .He is taking charge at the time when serious allegations of paid entry of accessers and sale of grades and manipulations of score sheets have surfaced in media reports and executive committee meeting resolutions of NAAC itself and no one has dared to touch alleged culprits till today. Wait and watch as Prof D P Singh is hard nut to crack and alleged corrupt NAAC officials cannot misuse him. Prof D P Singh should use IT tools and tamper proof systems and Prof D P Singh should make NAAC corruption free under his command from day one.
In a press release the NAAC had said that "In a bid to over haul the existing quality assurance measures followed by NAAC and at the same time instill a sense of accountability, responsibility and transparency in the present system, Prof D P Singh, the newly appointed Director of NAAC has outlined a series of measures and priority areas."Giving NAAC a Global outlook through collaborations with various international quality assurance agencies and organizations from across the Globe, hone-up the skills of NAAC staff through bilateral exchange programmes through different National and International agencies, overhaul the existing methodology followed by NAAC and infuse international new changes/patterns followed by Global Quality Assurance Agencies will be some of the priority and thrust areas, said, Prof. D.P. Singh. Prof Singh has also put emphasis on strengthening the headquarters of NAAC with adequate human resources, expanding the collegiums of assessors and integration of ICT to cater to the challenges of mandatory accreditation process. In line with the mandate of NAAC, the NAAC will also focus on strengthening of Internal Quality Assurance Mechanisms and mentoring of higher education institutions (HEIs) to bring them on par with international HEIs added Prof Singh.
