Lot of information is still in silos and major chunk is still on paper and every day information on paper is created.E mails are still not used by the departments. Organaisations must digitize their records every day not only to reduce the paper but to ensure smooth flow of information. Government to motivate and prioritize the digitization and understand what to digitize and how to digitize and how to name the files for retrieval of the information by selecting best hard ware platforms and best software platforms for document management systems. This will reduce the corruption .
Bangalore development authority failed digitize its developed layouts plan to counter check site allotments of about 2 lakh numbersmade to general public up till date with reference to allotment orders or allotment list made as per rules and to find out how many site wereneed to be regularized in BDA notified area under re-convey schemes under section 38-C of amended BDA Act..If this data is made out available in public domain entire story of unlimited corruption is BDA will be out in public domain and it will be easy to find out the many scams that are made in BDA since its inception. Allotment list and site numbers in layout plan and registered documents all need to be compared and matched.If it is not matching culprits need to be found out. .Site Numbers which are not allotted but occupied by the owners need to be re-conveyed under section 38-C of BDA Act. The status of project of digitization taken up by BDA is not kown. Bangalore Development Authority from the day of its inception has developed layouts and has made site allotments of about 2 lakh numbers of sites to general public. During the last one decade more than 10 new layouts have been added to the growing city by BDA. It can also check whether the sites allotted were still with original allottees or all have sold it for profit. The authority has more than 1500 map sheets in hardcopy format which requires to be converted into digital layers for access, search, discovery as well as updating for planning and administration. The Bangalore Development Authority was established on 6th January 1976 under the BDA Act 1976.The Authority was set up with the primary objective of fulfilling the Planning functions of the city. Prior to this the planning functions of Bangalore were vested in the hands of the City Improvement Trust Board.Bangalore Development Authority intended to create digital database of all the layouts coming under its jurisdiction to plan and monitor all its developmental activities using geospatial technologies. Bangalore Development Authority from the day of its inception has developed layouts and has made site allotments of about 2 lakh numbers of sites to general public. During the last one decade more than 10 new layouts have been added to the growing city by BDA.
